  • NMI at 60.7%; November Non-Manufacturing ISM Report On Business

    Economic activity in the non-manufacturing sector grew in November for the 106th consecutive month, say the nation's purchasing and supply executives in the latest Non-Manufacturing ISM® Report On Business®. The report was issued today by Anthony Nieves, CPSM, C.P.M., A.P.P., CFPM, Chair of the Institute for Supply Management® (ISM®) Non-Manufacturing Business Survey Committee: "The NMI® registered 60.7 percent, which is 0.4 percentage point higher than the October reading of 60.3 percent. Once again edu and healthcare are among the largest contributors to this stat. These 'no value added' components are draws on an economy. Note also, utilities had the slowest gain and agriculture has a decrease. A service economy is not sustainable with an aging demographic and a trade deficit.
